Modern vs Traditional Dorms - Experiences?

I’m trying to decide whether to apply for modern or traditional dorms as my first preference… Based on my research,

The modern dorms seem to have much better facilities and generally be more comfortable. They’re also more expensive.
The traditional dorms seem to have a more “social” atmosphere, and have residents with more socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

I don’t know to what extent this information is correct as I have never visited. Could any WashU students elaborate on the differences between modern and traditional housing?

The differences between the two types of housing is mainly the private bathrooms verses common bathrooms. The modern set up usually has two full baths with 3 double rooms of 2 to a room or 6 total. I would say the diverse backgrounds are similar between the two. You can go look at the actual floor plans online to see how it is set up.
