I spent $160 in three weeks, but about $100 of it was for art supplies! (owww)

i wish i could find a cardboard box for $300 a month in the bay area, much less an apartment. hah.

izzie, most people move into an apartment with someone else and split the costs. if i was sharing an apt with someone here it'd probably be 200-300 a month.

"No professional sports, no restaurant meals, no golf, no travel to another city and apparently NO arts events or concerts......how they do it I don't know."

there are no professional sports teams near my school. I don't eat at restaurants much because I already paid for the meals at school. If I eat out I just pay twice for one meal. No, I don't golf. I don't visit other schools. That's what AIM and breaks are for. Concerts on campus are ridiculously cheap.

to live off campus here (berkeley) in a decent apartment, you would probably be spending about $800-1000 a month, a person (if you wanted your own bedroom).

wow....you guys make me feel bad.... i spend way more than $60 a month.....It seems that I am going to one of the ATMs on campus every two days to withdraw more money... I live in DC and the cost of living is high....Everything (especially food) is expensive and I have to take public transportation to get around and that really adds up. I bought a mini fridge and foods and socks, soap and that kinda stuff in WALMART and spent over $300 in that....Furnished my room with accessories and rugs, bought a new watch, wallet, cologne and that really adds up.....Books are really expensive and I eat out a lot...Pizza at least once a week....Chinese or chicfila almost everyday and McDonald's dollar menu adds up when u get a double cheeseburger, fries and apple pies twice a day between classes.......College is really a lot more expensive than I realized and I would recommend a part time job for anyone who can handle it with the college workload.....
