DePaul is my number one choice for college, but I'm starting to get a bad feeling that I won't be able to go there.

I don't believe I'll have a problem getting in, it's the money factor that's the issue.

Here are some of my credentials for DePaul:

-Applied before November 15th (I applied November 14th though...)
-Cumulative GPA is a 4.06 (although it will go up after this semester)
-I go to an annoyingly smart and competitive private school. Even though I have above a 4.00, I'm not in the top 10% of my class (I'm in the 12%).
-ACT was a 29
-I've been involved in a lot of different activities and I'm in National Honor Society at my high school
-With my councilor recommendation, I also sent 2 letters of recommendation from my AP Lit & Comp teacher and my AP Lang & Comp teacher
-I sent in a copy of my resume as well

It used to be I was going to be able to go no problem, but then this "recession" happened and my parent's poorly diversified stock portfolio lost 70% of it's value in three months (It was almost all in Bank of America stock).

Our family moved to Iowa from Kansas City a couple of years ago and I don't like it here at all. It just feels way to small and I want to get out of here. Ever since 5th grade I've wanted to spend the rest of my life in Chicago, and I loved DePaul and the Lincoln Park neighborhood when I visited.

I guess what I'm asking is, realistically would DePaul be able to give me a decent scholarship where tuition would be about the same as at the University of Iowa (about $20,000)? I know that would mean a $17,000 scholarship from DePaul, which is unrealistic. But does anyone know about how much I could get?

I'm going to cry on way to Iowa City if I have to go to school there!

Thanks for any responses.
