My D just got her first academic acceptance to Montclair. If she doesn't get into the BFA program could she go directly into the BA program since she is already admitted?

Bisouu you should call the school. I think you need to interview for the BA program.

I will do that shacherry…thanks so much. Thought this might be a safety option for her…

Yeah on first accept :D

Bisouu, unless things have changed, there is a separate audition for the BA. It is a group audition.

Would that be done at Unifieds as well?

^I would suggest that you contact them to find out.

I will. I just thought someone on here might know the answer :)

I am in the BFA program at Montclair and you do need a separate interview/audition for the BA. I believe the only option is to audition/interview on campus.

There was a student who applied my son’s year who was denied from the BFA and then auditioned for the BA, was accepted, attended, and loved the program.

She did the BA audition on campus, but because she is from NJ, it was not a hardship to make the trip.

Three years ago my D was offered a telephone interview for the BA, because we are out of state. Just contact admissions and ask. But definitely make the effort, because it’s the applicant’s responsibility to arrange this. They do not automatically consider you for the BA along with the BFA, and unlike other schools are not known to offer the BA if you are not accepted into the BFA.

When going into the audition would it be beneficial for the auditors to know that you already have an academic admittance or is that not of any importance to them?

I don’t think they are interested in knowing that, bisouu. The audition is all about acting. Montclair is not very selective academically, and most students who apply are accepted.

Thanks, that’s what I figured
