More difficult to get into Columbia Engineering than Columbia College?

Some people told me that this year (class of 2019) Columbia Engineering’s acceptance rate might be lower than Columbia College’s acceptance rate. Last year the exact numbers were 6.8 % for Columbia College and 7.4% for Columbia Engineering (http://www.columbia.edu/cu/opir/abstract/opir_admissions_history_1.htm). Does anyone know whether this is true?

I was just curious as I am planning to apply as a transfer applicant to Columbia Engineering next year…

The acceptance rates for transfer applicants are not the same as for regular applicants. I think it is generally considered more difficult to get into SEAS as the applicant pool is more focused and competitive than at the college.
