<p>Yeah, no kidding. I was happy with a 750 on Mathiic, but when I saw it was a 74 percentile, I just about died. Anyone?</p>
<p>The score is of the most immediate importance. Some top schools do an "Academic index" where instead of looking at your SAT1 scores alone, they add 5 SATs-verbal, math, writing and two others, and then add a factor that corresponds to class rank. They do not bother to figure out the percentile of the SAT2s. </p>
<p>However, if you are going into a specialty field such as an elite engineering program, that 750 in the math may not be so impressive when most of the kids in that program are sporting near perfect. So thought they will not be looking at the actual percentile score, it can become clear that your score is not so special in a case like that, and that is something you can see from the percentile.</p>
<p>Hmm... what if i have perfect ACT and SAT Chem scores to go with it?</p>
