Unfortunately, I hav e the 3rd registration window and thus most of the classes I want are full. My question is whether I should take a seminar I don't care for in the fall and a writing class i like in the spring or take a writing class i don't care for in the fall and a seminar i like in the spring. also do a lot of people drop from classes during the drop/add period (especially chem 22L and Econ 51D)

Thx

Try to look hard for seminars in different departments - there should be some good ones left even if you are 3rd window. Some of the low-level literature seminars aren't bad although they are usually taught by grad students. You are probably better off waiting for writing to get a better topic/professor.

You could probably register for Econ 51D as a fifth class on the waitlist. They generally let everyone into those intro classes.

And regarding writing and seminars, definitely do seminars first. Writing 20's vary hugely from professors that ridiculously easy to those that are ridicuously hard. Ask classmates about whose hard and easy. Seminars generally aren't that bad unless you enroll in a really technical class like math or something like that. The professors are generally pretty good and even across the board.
