More than One Community College

Hi, I'm a transfer student. I went to a different community college in NorCal two years ago but because of health issues I could no longer attend classes and couldn't even take the final and therefore got two F's in both of the classes I attended. Because the drop deadlines were passed the drop date, i couldn't even drop the classes. Then two semesters later, I started fresh at a new community college in SoCal and I'm doing really well with grades. But on my transfer application, I forgot to put in the grades for these two for the UC's I applied to. What should I do? Is there a way I can get rid of those grades from the other community college? Do I have to enter those into my applications? Thank you so much

You have to send that transcript and include those grades. Period.

Next time you get sick and can’t complete a course, get a letter from your physician to give to the college or university. Often this can result in a late medical withdrawal or allow an Incomplete so you can take the final exam later on. If you want to be rid of those two F grades, contact that CC and find out if you can now get a medical withdrawal (unlikely) or if there is a way to re-take those classes and get the grades replaced (more likely).

The UCs plainly state that you must report all colleges attended and your grades. No wiggle room. They will catch you, since there is a national database that all Cal CCs belong to (as well as almost all colleges nationwide) that is used to track where students have enrolled. Its primarily for enforcing financial aid rules so someone can’t apply for aid as if they have never received any before, but it also does nicely for catching applicants that “forget” to list prior colleges.

Should be posted on the UC Transfer forum.
