Morehead-Cain Scholarship

This may be a very dumb question, but the deadline to apply for the Morehead-Cain Scholarship is October 1st. My school is not a nominating school, but my counselor sent in all of my information as if I went to a nominating school. The CEEB code for my school doesn't even show up. So should I just wait to see if I get asked to apply for the scholarship, or should I apply now?

anish10, are you in-state or out-of-state?

If you are in-state, any high school can nominate and any student can apply directly for the Morehead-Cain.

If you are out-of-state, you can only apply for the Morehead-Cain by October 1 if you attend a nominating high school or affiliate program.

If you aren’t able to be nominated for the Morehead-Cain, you still have options. If you apply to UNC-Chapel Hill by the first deadline (November 2), the UNC admissions committee may refer you to the Morehead-Cain Foundation as an at-large candidate. You could consider applying for other UNC scholarships such as the Robertson.

However, you can’t do both the robertson and morehead at UNCW so be careful

I am an out of stater. Thanks for your help.
