@ibd1992 I have a question for you. Now that you’ve gotten the Morrill scholarship, is there any indication of this on your OSU portal? Maybe under financial aid? I have the same question for people who have gotten a merit scholarship, is there any indication of this on your OSU portal? Thanks!
For those of you who have received the notification: Did you receive it through your Buckeye Mail account that you set up upon being accepted, or through the email that you provided when you applied? Thank you!
@lbd1992 how was information received as I had the same question - were you notified on your Buckeye email or a letter in the mail ?
@lbd1992 I hit send too quickly but wanted to add Congrats ! That is amazing and a huge accomplishment.
Well done !
HAs anyone else been notified that they were awarded a Morrill Scholarship yet ?
@Mombean I didn’t see any notification under the financial aid on my buckeye link profile
@lorhop I received the email from my personal email, not the Buckeye one.
Can you share your stats? And what is the latest ACT considered for MSP because I know that although I got a 32 on my Nov 2016 test, it won’t be considered for merit scholarships, is that the same for MSP because the other score I sent in was a 29 from Oct 2016.
My understanding is Morrill is mostly based on Essay, and also extra curriculars. Once accepted to OSU, they don’t further evaluate scores when determining Morrill.
sorry it sept and oct not oct and nov
My S was accepted before Thanksgiving, and found out he is a Morril Scholar today. Whew? Merry Christmas to me.
@acke0815 Awesome Congrats to you and your son. Have a Very Merry Christmas as I am sure you now will
Congratulations! My daughter also received notification of the Morrill Prominence today. We are very excited and extremely grateful.
The Morrill decisions are really trickling out this year. We are still waiting anxiously…
Congratulations @GoOSU, @acke0815! Were you notified by email, letter or on the portal? If email, personal email ID used on the applications or the buckeye ID? Also, how does one move on to Eminence Fellowships? Is that a nomination, whereby OSU asks you to apply?
@OHToCollegeThank you. Notification came via email. Buckeye mail is set to forward to personal email.l
Talked to Office of Diversity and Inclusion at OSU before the break. The will be notifying, regarding the Morrill, through February. They also will inform you know if you did not receive the scholarship. For us OOS, if we receive a National Buckeye or other Merit scholarship by mail, that does not mean that we are not subject to the Morrill. The Morrill would override any of these if received afterward. I did post previously that the National Buckeye and Merit Scholarships will be released mid-January thru February (they want to review all and give equal opportunity to those applying Nov 1 vs Sep 1).
@CRVKids Did they give any indication of how many students have been notified re: Morrill already? They seem to be behind right now as only a few have posted. That’s unusual compared to past years.
My son received Morill Prominence by his personal email on Dec 16 ! I was also wondering how many apply for this and how many are given?? We are super excited ! Also, does anyone know when we hear about the other scholarships such as Engineering? or when we hear about Honors/Scholars ? Congratulations everyone !
Congratulations about the Morill scholarship! I wish my son had heard about any scholarships or Honors before Christmas. I hate waiting. What did your son write about in his Morill essay? As to the Engineering scholarships for incoming freshman, the applications are not due until Feb. 1st, and “Ohio State Financial Aid will notify students by email regarding their aid packages for 2017-2018. This notification will list all sources of aid, including any scholarships awarded by the College of Engineering. The College of Engineering and its individual departments will also mail letters to those students who have received an award as a result of their College of Engineering Scholarship Application.” according to the OSU website.
When did your son apply?
