Thank you !
He applied in Oct for everything he could apply for.
@Mombean when did your son apply?
my son applied in mid-October, for admittance, Honors, and Morrill.
Oh, and he just submitted his application for the Engineering scholarships a day or two ago.
My daughter received an email today awarding her the Prominence scholarship and consideration for Distinction.
Congrats!!! @cubanmom When did your D apply? I’m staring to get discouraged about D’s chances of getting one. She applied fairly early.
She applied late October. Thank you I am excited for her the email stated she would hear on 1/13 if she is advancing to the Distinction final round. We are OOS so this makes OSU an option. I hope you hear back soon…we moms have to stick together. GOOD LUCK
Are there any in-state applicants that have been notified, or has it only been OOS being notified for the Prominence scholarship? As far as I understand, Prominence is only for OOS and I haven’t seen any posts about people receiving Excellence (in-state).
Actually I think the Prominence is part of the Morrill Scholarship Program (Distinction, Prominence and Excellence). The Maximus, Provost and Trustee are the names of the merit based scholarships. It seems to me that most of the people hearing anything about scholarships so far are OOS too, and most of those seem to be the Morrill ones, not the regular merit ones.
@Mombean I don’t believe merit scholarships have been released yet, nor will they be until Jan/Feb, according to OSU. Like I said before, I haven’t really seen any in state applicants saying they received anything for Morrill, despite OOS getting Prominence.
Congrats @Cubanmom3! Are these coming to the personal email ID mentioned on commonapp or to the buckeye email id? Care to share your daughter’s stats?
I could be wrong, but I think some in-state Morrill have also been released, among students who applied way early and were accepted in the first round of students in November.
We are in-state and my son received Morrill Excellence in December. A friend of his who is also in-state received his email yesterday for Morrill Excellence. He is thrilled because we really thought OSU was not attainable financially. His email came through his personal email account but we had not set up Buckeyemail at that point either. Excited to see about Scholars now.
@OHTocollege the email came to her personal email yesterday and today she received an invitation to the Distinction scholarship weekend in February so we are a bit overwhelmed right now! We live in Florida so the idea of Ohio in winter has us scrambling
@OHToCollege sorry I posted her stats but they did not show in my reply…I am new to CC so probably did it wrong.
