@cubanmom Thats not what I meant. Your D clearly has high stats. I just meant lower than the Eminence level. I looked back at years worth of posts for the Morrill and only a couple were 34+ ACT/1500+ SAT students. I may be totally off base, however.
Your daughter’s EC’s also sounds like exactly what they are looking for. Congrats!
Got National Buckeye + Maximus on Monday, and I’m hoping to hear back on Morrill soon! Looking back through the few people who have posted receiving Morrill, it looks like they send some about every 2 weeks? That would mean maybe next week they’ll send more?
Does this mean that if we have gotten the Maxmis, we are still eligible for the morill scholarship? I wasn’t really sure, but if that’s true then that’s great! @d012939
@JoyGrace, when I called the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, I was told Morrill scholarships will be awarded by end of February, although at this point its only likely that excellence and prominence awards may be pending. The distinction weekend is being held on February 3/4th, and its possibly too late to be considered for that if you haven’t heard already. But this may be conjecture on my part, so confirm directly and post here so others may benefit.
Hopefully The Ohio State University Morrill Scholars administrators take a peak at this board on occasion, if so this question/suggestion is for you.
As you can see a lot of folk here (and I am sure elsewhere) are nervously waiting for news on the status of Morrill Scholar awards. I assume many of us are calling your office day in and day out to ask you about the status of these awards.
You would save a lot of your time if you would issue regular (once per week or so) updates, instead of having to field so many calls.
Some of us, would love for our child attend The Ohio State University, but in our case being from out of state, it is just too expensive. If you have you reached the allocation of awards, I urge you to PLEASE share the information here and/or your own website
Please have College Confidential issue you a confirmed ID. This way we know that your posts are from the Morrill Scholars office at The Ohio State University.
I was so impressed by the Distinction dinner and Interviews held this weekend. I’m also glad we stayed for Scholars Day. OSU put its best foot forward. Very impressive.
@acke0815 I agree and was completely impressed and inspired after the dinner. My daughter felt the same way and is really excited about attending OSU. Now I guess just have to wait to see if receive a call in March, though forgot to ask if there is an actual date of notification? Good luck to your son/daughter!
Congrats all!! Does anyone know specifically what it covers… I know room & board, but anything else like books, etc? What about if you do study abroad a semester?
@ballet13 You have to apply and be accepted to attend early arrival - I definitely recommend applying and doing it if accepted. My D attended and met a lot of people, plus she was already settled when the rest of the world moved in! MSP does a great job with that program. I don’t know for sure about the LLC (I assume you get it if you select it early in the process). She is in a Scholars program (she’s a Morrill Scholar in Honors/Scholars) and lives with that group.
