Most Beautiful College Campus: Theater Schools

Hello everyone! I've seen threads about the most beautiful campuses in the country, but I thought it would be fun to compile a list of the schools with good theater programs that have great campuses. What have schools have you all found to be beautiful during your college search?

I'l start the list with a couple of the schools I've come across that are pretty beautiful (and have good theater programs):

Elon
Kenyon (BA)
Holy Cross (BA)
Vassar (BA)

I would love to hear what you all think!

Rollins College (BA)

Carnegie Mellon
Adelphi
Muhlenberg

Northwestern (gorgeous campus overall, plus theatre buildings are steps away from lovely Lake Michigan beach)

University of Michigan (theatre buildings in open, treed area of campus near nice little ponds, plus Law buildings are spectacular)

If you haven’t been to Elon University, check it out…it is easily the most beautiful campus my daughter and i have been to!

Southern Methodist has a really beautiful campus.

It would be fun to virtually “see” some of these beautiful campuses! Is it ok to post links to a photo here?

That’s a great idea!

Here’s a virtual tour of Kenyon: [Middle Path - Kenyon College](http://www.kenyon.edu/campustour)

Here’s a campus tour of Vassar: [Vassar College || Online Tour](http://admissions.vassar.edu/visit_tour.html)

I just found a decent video tour of the lovely Northwestern campus in YouTube.

Just search “Northwestern University campus tour” on YouTube. The top video that came up (2:20 long) seems pretty decent, though of course there’s a ton it doesn’t show.

We loved Elon, Penn State Univ Park campus, CMU, Skidmore, Wittenburg and Denison all have beautiful campuses. But favorite so far is definitely Elon!

So I’m totally biased and it’s not really known as a theater school, but its drama department has produced Tina Fey, Sean Patrick Thomas and quite a few producers, directors and writers, so I’d can’t help but not add University of Virginia (BA) to this list. It is a World Heritage site…

Hi! I think CMU is beautiful but have to say my S’s and my Alma Mater Ithaca College is truly stunning. The view of Cayuga lake from the campus almost brings me to tears.

A sunny crisp autumn day at Indiana University Bloomington is as pretty as anywhere. The theatre complex is also topnotch.

Forbes has called IU one of the most beautiful campus in the nation. Thomas Gaines named IU one of five most beautiful college campuses in his book “The Campus as a Work of Art”.

For a large campus IU never has ceased to amaze me by its beauty still after 3 yrs of visiting For a small campus I agree Elon was gorgeous.

If you’re a city lover, NYU is great. (Only half kidding.) ;)

I’m partial to USC (as long as you stay away from the engineering quad, those buildings are not very pretty). :)

I’ll second Adelphi. The campus is an arboretum and sculpture garden, and the performing arts building is brand new and gorgeous.

Bing Travel just published their list of 14 Scenic College Campuses (listed in no particular order). Not sure which of them have great theatre programs, but I found it fun to look up photos of these lovely spots in any case…

Rutgers’ old, New Brunswick campus is surprisingly attractive (not so its Piscataway Busch campus) and historic. The adjacent Cook College campus still houses a working farm. Drew University is small, but has a pretty, quiet quad within a New Jersey suburb.

Chapman University in Orange, California has a gorgeous campus. They are still growing, with the new Center for the Arts in design development, plus other new facilities just completed on campus in addition to several other projects in design development as well.
