Most beautiful SUNY school?

Oswego alum here. The campus is gorgeous, it's cradled on the edge of lake Ontrio. YOu better not mind snow and wind if you go there though, but the camous and sunsets on the lake are priceless.

Binghamton. Please. It is not on Long Island.

TcherryPie, you really think Binghamton is rural and secluded? I haven't felt that way at all when I've gone through it. Binghamton's a major regional city and the campus is huge.

I would just like to put 2 cents in for NY Maritime College if you like to look out on the water and get the NY Skyline as well. Of course, you have to slog over/under the Throggs Neck Bridge and it's on a peninsula in the Bronx (but safe). And it helps if you want to be an engineer.

I have visited SUNYs at Delhi, Binghamton, Albany, Cobelskill, New Paltz, and Geneseo, and currently go to Oneonta. I would say for surrounding area scenery-wise, Geneseo may beat Oneonta by a hair, but I think Oneonta has a slightly nicer looking campus as far as the actual physical plant goes.

I'm surprised at people's views of the SUNY Oneonta campus...and I mean that in a good way. Then again...my hometown is Cooperstown and I took a lot of classes at Oneonta while in HS so I guess I can't really appreciate an outsider's view :-)

And as for Binghamton (notice there is no "p" after the "m") being in a rural, desolate area? You've got to be kidding me...you've clearly never been.

Geneseo is by far the most attractive campus.

As far as academic ranking,
1.) Geneseo
2.) Binghamton
3.) New Paltz
4.) Albany
5.) Oneonta
6.) Stony Brook
7.) Oswego
8.) Fredonia
9.) Cortland
10.) Purchase

and so on. Particular programs beat out other schools though. For example Albany’s political science program is the best out of the bunch, and Fredonia, Oneonta, and Purchase have excellent arts programs. If you’re looking for a top notch, public priced, but private quality education and have solid credentials, Geneseo is your best bet.

Whenever I visited Stony Brook, it was in the fall. (move my cousin into her dorm, move my cousin out, move my cousin in to her house [saw the school], open house last year) and thought it looked really nice. Keep in mind I also saw Fordham and NYIT during the fall and thought they both looked nice. So maybe its just the fall colors and leaves I like, haha

27 To suggest that Binghamton and Albany are more attractive than Oneonta suggests to me that you have never been to Oneonta. Albany and Binghamton seem so cold and institutional. Oneonta seems more like a private school.

^ He said academic ranking, but still with flaws. Oneonta and New Paltz above Stony Brook? Don’t think so

I like SUNY Albany’s campus best. Some SUNY’s are pretty ugly though… But some are really nice!

Potsdam, Oswego, Cobleskill, all very attractive lesser known SUNYs.
Oswego=Lake Effect Snow.
