Most Competitve Schools: Party Much?

Which most competitve schools seem, among that exclusive group, to have the biggest partying atmosphere (not just Ivies, but maybe top 50 or so nationals and LAC's)?

All top public universities... :)

Penn
USC
Duke
Vandy
Emory
Lehigh
Tulane
GW
Cuse
Miami
BU

Add in essentially any state school as well.

University of Texas at Austin - Usnews #1 party school in the country. Ranked about 50 in the nation

Penn State University Park - Usnews #2 party school in the country. Ranked #47 in the country.

Great schools with amazing parties.

Dartmouth, Duke, Emory. I'd say Dartmouth and Duke more so than Emory, going by when I visited the three campuses. I guess it would make sense considering Emory is in Atlanta and schools that are in the middle of nowhere leave you with a very limited amount of entertainment aside from parties.

Emory really does not seem like a party school to me. When I visited it definitely did not give off the vibe. It looks like it has a decent greek system though.

Vanderbilt has an awesome party scene for a top 20 school!!

Dartmouth.

Most definitely Dartmouth. Duke to a lesser extent...

I agree with jissell's hypothesis.

Vandy. Penn too.

The parties I attended were in Atlanta, the city itself, not so much the school. A lot of students were there though.

I heard that NYU was a party school, which really surprised me. I mean, it's in the middle of NYC. You'd think students would fan out and go places. Anyone else hear this about NYU?

What about top schools which are NOT party schools?

"What about top schools which are NOT party schools?"

Harvard haha.

Yale has parties, but they're so lame.

Caltech and MIT for sure (moreso Caltech). Pretty much most the Ivies are lame.

What are the party scenes like at all the top 15 schools: HYPS, Brown, DMOUTH, NU, WUSTL, MIT

MIt== nooo party scene whatsoever-- ud find more parties at BYU than MIT--

browns a bunch of hippies so yeah

Well UChicago has a big party scene. They have study parties if that counts for anything.

I agree with other posters that Dartmouth has a huge party scene. Isolated campus + boredom + alcohol = huge emphasis on greek life and a huge party scene. MIT has no party scene. Neither does U Chicago. I've actually heard people say "University of Chicago: where fun goes to die", not just on this site but in real life. Duke has a good party scene. Other top 15 schools...not much partying. Dartmouth has the most, IMO.

haha yea nice i love study parties with antonella and jon sellon

Haha, those who are saying MIT has no party scene should come to Boston on the weekend sometime.

MIT has 26 fraternities. There is a significant party scene, if that's what you're into. That's not to say that students party all the time, or that someone should come to MIT expecting not to work, but there's definitely a work hard, play hard atmosphere.

I know right? MIT has an INSANE party scene...All our girls (BU) party it up at MIT frats....You guys are clueless.

The Claremont Colleges have a good scene
