Most likely to...

What do you guys think of putting down one of those "most likely to..." awards on an application? I know some people list "most likely to succeed" or
"best musician," ect. I mean does it help or hurt? On one hand it's a popularity contest. On the other hand it could indicate how your peers regard and respect you too, right?

good question, ill just upp to get an answer,

Superlatives... I really don't think those have any significance whatsoever in college admissions. They're just things the school votes on for fun basically and don't mean anything.

Seriously, they're worthless. And we don't even hear about it in my school until yearbooks are out. I think we vote in the winter.

yes.. these stuff as all adcoms know have greator insignificance than significance ...also what do they reflect.. Only ur popularity in school or something. Solid stuff counts which has proper substance

what! definitely include it... especially if you go to a large school. i'd say avoid "best looking" or "biggest flirt" obviously, but "most likely to suceed" or "funniest" seem fine to me... colleges want to know that you are well-regarded socially, how could that hurt?

dude we got the voting sheets today. ugh. can't hurt, as long as you don't list that as your #1 or only accomplishment/award.

I guess it cant HURT...but i highly doub it would help

when we did our this year a lot of the winners were joke ones

I honestly think adcoms would laugh if they saw these on an application... I think it would hurt in making you look somewhat stupid for thinking they'd mean anything on a college app, unless it's some huge unbelievably big honor at your school to receive a certain 'title'...

But never having been an admissions officer myself, I'll let someone more familiar answer.
