Prestige, maybe on CC, but quality no way.

please kiddo, the difference between these institutions are negligible. chicago and columbia have more nobels and per capita rhodes/marshall/fulbright scholars than some of the schools in hypsm.

Vritas, then by all means, please list these 5 universities.

and South Harmon Institute for Technology!

@Vritas: I hate how Durmstrang is on the cut-off point every year. It’s always #6.

^you forgot about Beauxbatons.

^Last year, there was a big deal about it being ranked on the same level as Mrs Puff’s, remember?

Their schools of Communications (Newhouse), Business (Lubin), Education, Architecture, Arts, etc are amazing.

Most kids who go there are getting jobs once they graduate.

Plus the campus is beautiful!

Most overrated: Brown, NYU

Most underrated: St. John’s College

overrated: WUSTL Emory Rice Johns Hopkins UNC U-Mich U Chicago

underrated: Boston College NYU UCLA

^ LOL. I think you have it completely opposite.

nah i have it just right, especially WUSTL

Underrated

University of Tulsa
Illinois Wesleyan University
Trinity University
Rhodes College
Washington University in St. Louis

Overrated

New York University

Overrated, 100% NYU. I don’t get why so many kids here (I’m in NYC) look to NYU as their dream school. To my understanding, the school doesn’t give much help with their overpriced tuition…

Overrated: Berkeley, Duke, WUSTL, NYU, Cornell, Brown
Underrated: Northwestern, Chicago, Georgetown, Rice, Tufts

^Someone’s a little biased.;)

underrated: syracuse

is tufts a really underrated school?? why??
and why is notre dame a overrated??
besides…
what about Barnard College??
is it underrated or overrated??

could someone give me a response??

Why is Harvey Mudd underrated? It’s a 3/2 Engineering program. Many of your LA classes have to be taken at Claremont/Pamona/McKenna. A large number of students that go into 3/2 engineering programs do not get an engineering degree.
If you want to be an engineer, go to a school that has a proper engineering program with research facilities, etc.

I don’t think GA Tech is overrated. I think it’s about right. It does a great job with FA/MA for instate residents with Georgia Hope. Otherwise forget it, you’re paying sticker. A good number of their graduates are on the 6yr plan. Seriously wish I could remember the percentage.

I think Wm & Mary is underrated. UVa over all is not over or under rated.

This is probably where I’ll get slammed…
I think VA Tech is underrated both in engineering and architecture. Forget rankings. Look at the awards the students are winning. This is not research that professors are off doing themselves, ignoring the students. These are innovative projects that both undergraduates and graduate students are working on. These are international awards.
I’m not a student, parent, employee, or alumni. I just think they are underrated.

Overrated: Berkeley, NYU, UCLA

Underrated; SMU, UT Austin, Fordham

Overrated: Emory, Vanderbilt (I know they are more appealing if you live in certain regions, but overall, I feel the schools are not as good as rankings, etc. indicate), Georgetown, Penn, WashU

Underrated: Rice, Northwestern, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Michigan, William & Mary, Lehigh, RPI
