I'm having trouble choosing. As you all don't know my personality so you can't help me really in choosing a school, on a more basic level, which of these schools is the most prestigious?

Rice
Bowdoin
Davidson
UCLA
Carleton
Emory

even tho rice is higher ranked on US news, not many really know about it.

First, you need to decide if you can afford a private university or not. Private costs like 4x as much as UCLA. I would say in my opinion, Rice is more prestigious. But UCLA is not far behind - and is catching up.

UCLA is more prestigious than Rice, at least in where I live. I’ve heard that Carleton and Bowdoin are two of the best LACs, but seriously, nobody knows that.

I live in SoCal, so this may be biased, but Rice and UCLA are about the same level of prestige. It’s just that Rice is private so it automatically gets extra points (at least I think that’s how it works). The other school to be honest, I’ve never heard of them.

UCLA probably is the most renowned on that list. It’s quite unfair to put top LACs up there to compare with the other top national U’s, because most people have not heard of them, not even Amherst.
