most rigorous junior year courses

this is the most obnoxious thread i've ever seen

incidentally, i'm taking 12 APs and a full IB curriculum

why obnoxious? by the way the course i named are just what I think are the hardest ones at my school by no means the ones I'm taking ( thank god).

Uhuh, it's not a chance to show off, : P

Well, just giving out some facts.
Though, AP's are just another way to express oneself academically, not look good on college applications.

I thrive on AP courses, the harder, the better, and would take IB diploma courses if my school offered them. Challenge good.

AP courses are the only ones that fail to bore me...and when I get bored, my grades start dying, slowly, until they hit C (as in grades 7-9, when there was little new material introduced, and some of the teachers were not very good (disconnected with HS skills)) before they return (a 3.8 average for this semester, which consisted of three APs, the maximum available).

I don't think you can really claim that any AP or IB course is the most rigorous junior year course when some high school students take advanced classes at local universities in their junior year. Someone I know took real analysis or something crazy like that his junior year, which I think trumps everything else that has been mentioned.

AP Biology (lab every other day for half of study hall)
AP Calculus AB (lab every four days for half of lunch)
AP Chemistry (lab every other day for half of study hall)
AP English Lang
AP US History
French 4 Honors

Bio, Calc, Lang, and French are insanely easy. US is alright. Chem is hard.

real analysis junior year is a nice feat..and i plan on taking that senior year sigh

don't forget AP Latin: Vergil; the class is impossible

^^uh no its not, our pass rate for that is 85% and everyone takes it

plus its pointless; latin is a dead language.....its a nice time waster

thats your opinion of it, i can say the same for math or physics if one doesn't wish to go into that field

While Latin may be a dead language, it is the origin of many not-dead languages, and studying it can make it those languages make a lot more sense. Since Latin isn't spoken any more, except in the Vatican, a much greater focus is put on grammar, which also helps enormously with other languages. Latin itself may not have many practical uses, but studying the language is very worthwhile because it makes related subjects so much easier.

Jesus Christ, you're crazy.

My schedule is:
English III
Precal H
AP US History
Physics
French 4h(AP)
Design/Architecture

Right now, physics is making me extremely miserable, not to mention stupid. If you want a good way to massacre your brain cells attempting to learn some useless ***** (excuse my french) about why the Tacoma Narrows Bridge collapsed (Nobody cares!!!It's a done deal. The bridge collapsed, there is a new bridge in its place.), then physics is for you. I'm no longer capable of preserving my sanity.

Every time I'm in physics, I take a 0 (or 45) off of the number of brain cells in my brain. Of course, AP History has to be the easiest class on my schedule-I add a 0 onto the number of brain cells in my brain. Same thing with English. I get the material in math, but only after hours spent on Sparknotes.

I feel like my IQ went from mid-140's to mid to high-120's since I've taken physics. I ABHOR SCIENCE!!!!! Thank god I'm a junior and I'll have fulfilled my science requirements by the end of this year, so I won't have to take a science next year (yay!!!)

Next year: AP English, AP Calc AB, AP Euro History, AP Econ
The schedule of my wildest dreams: AP English, AP Euro History, AP Econ, AP Government, AP Art History(more of an art, but history nonetheless), AP US History, AP Stat
(Notice there is NO SCIENCE.) :)

That would be MY WORST NIGHTMARE!!!!
Throw in the fact that history/social science and english/humanities aren't in the schedule and I'll be on suicide track. (DISCLAIMER: I'm NOT suicidal. Yet. If I were to take all science and math, I would be.)

I wish the reverse (as in skip math and science) applied as well. I wish schools would let us skip math and science. That way, I don't spend one period per day killing my brain cells by the millions and wasting time. Math is fine, but my current math teacher makes us (yes, including those who liked math) hate math. He seems so removed from the real world-the truth is, I will never use calculus for the rest of my life because I'm going to become an investment banker (OK, maybe a little, but I will be doing it inadvertently, so I won't care). The truth is, nobody cares about his chaos theory crap (he tried to teach us this;I'm like "What the hell does this have anything to do with anything?". The truth is, even if our careers did involve calculus, it will all be computerized(done via computer).

I wish they offered banking/finance as an elective (or maybe College Board should create an AP course in banking/finance-I would take it...over calculs???Absolutely!!!). Some schools do, and I think it would be cool if my school offered it.

it would be cool if there was indeed a banking/finance class... at my school the closest thing we have is IB business and management...which is pretty cool since our projects are to like make a business and have actual profits. Does anyone have any serious music class? I'd love it if they gave IB Music at my school, I would so take it. The closest thing we have is a class called music composition, but its an elective and since I'm taking full IB diploma I don't have time/space for electives...once again IB ruins my life

though I wouldn't take finance over calculus...I'd rather know what the computer is doing than have to depend on it for every single calculation I need

Hardest class in my school... Regular biology with a certain teacher. Yep, you read that right. Regular biology. This certain teacher has the highest failing rate in the school for years.

Hardest class for juniors... can't really say. Everyone's at different paces.

Hardest class in that list... if it was taught in my school, then Calculus BC... but that's because about nobody takes it (and no one to ask for clarifications). In my junior friends' opinions, all of the listed classes are sort of easy. Might be the teachers they have.

AP English Language & Composition
AP Spanish Language & Composition
AP US History
AP US Government & Politics
Principles of Microeconomics (DE.... its weighted like an AP though...1.5x)
Principles of Macroeconomics(DE.... its weighted like an AP though...1.5x)
Calculus I (DE.... its weighted like an AP though...1.5x)
Introduction to Sociology (DE.... weighted Honors ... 1.125x)
Fitness Lifestyle Design (pe... lol, no ap here)

Wait, you get 1.5 times!!! Do you mean 1.05??? 1.5 would be like 100--> 150 and thats too much. We get 1.08 for AP.
