hi guys!
i didn’t read the whole thread (sry), but is there anyone who was accepted for spring entrance? because i was!! superhappy! also, as i am starting law school here in germany in two weeks (spring semester), this gives me the chance to really look at my options here. wow. best thing that could happen to me also, this reduces costs! and i already asked them, i can transfer the credit i earn in law school here!! MOHO!!! lol^^

Hiii again! I just received my official MHC acceptance letter in the mail today! I’m super psyched! I can’t wait to see all of you at the admitted students program!

Hi Eagle! A few of us are spring admits. I’m super psyched because I’ll get to put away some money and not work 80 hours a week all summer long.

A firstie at MHC told a friend of mine that it was a record breaking year for them for apps and so I feel great about being accepted. Unless Smith comes through with more money I am MHC bound in January!

pink: was it just a letter or a packet? I didn’t get anything yet.

I signed up for admitted students weekend. I didn’t get anything in email to confirm. (someone had asked this question earlier).

I got mine as well. The package was red, and inside was a transculent envelope with MoHo’s students faces as a background. It included a finaid letter, admissions letter, scholarship letter, travel letter, and deposit form.

Super intense, because it came in one of those next day mail packages shipped on airplanes, and was labeled “very urgent” or something. That made me lol.

ready: Yeah, mine came in a UPS urgent packet. You should probably be receiving it sometime this week. Mine looked exactly like blarghh’s packet :)

I received an official letter in the mail today too! My mom was so excited when she saw it!

Hi–We had similar experience with very high EFC compared to other offers (30K EFC from parents alone and we work in nonprofit and make AGI 70K–BUT we have paid off a lot of our house and so have more than 200K equity in it–they count that). The FAFSA only schools I understand some difference, but one school that uses all the same info as CSS (both unmarried parents tax forms and info) comes in at least 10K less cost to us.

I emailed the FA officer I’d worked with because of our non-traditional family and the complexity of filling out forms for non-married cohabitating parents and told her we appreciated the Leadership award money and small MHC grant, but were really confused about the offer–could she help me understand it. She called today and we had a very nice chat–she did ask what other schools had offered (one of the schools offered a tuition/room/board scholarship, which is not comparable of course, but since my D on fence about going there, makes everything more stressful–even if we are LUCKY). The FA officer was very nice and answered all my questions and said she would definitely take another look at the award and let us know if there was anything else they could do.

We had been planning a visit (have tickets) in two weeks (2 other schools nearby as well–all not lost) and my D didn’t even want to visit after seeing the award and my reaction. But I think we’ll try and go anyway, who knows–maybe they will have more funds available by May 1. D really liked it from research and interview.

Let me know what happens–I’m curious. You can send me a personal message or ask me for email add for direct. Wondering if the unmarried thing messes up how taxes look or something on CSS.

wow, this thread is VERY active! I just got admitted to Mount Holyoke as well and couldn’t be happier :D. But quick question, as an international student, will it be wise to take up the loan MHC has offered?

hi everybody, i am an intr.transfer student. so worried that still haven’t reply from Mount Holyoke. is there any transfer students who already got their notifications? by the way i am francis perkins student

Congrats!
I don’t think it would be a bad idea to take the loan. As in my situation, I have no other choice…The website says the amount might be up to ~20,000. But we have 10 years after graduation to repay, so that wouldn’t be a big problem.

@gusyamatusya: I think transfer student notifications come out like in may, that’s what I heard. I’m not a transfer student so I’m not fully informed on this, but I’m pretty sure that the transfer notifications come out after the admitted students accept.

Transfer notifications are by mid-April, which it says on ISIS. Not sure if the Francis Perkins notification date is any different, though. Good luck!

waitlisted by holyoke!!!guys, i want a suggestion, should i write to them about my new bigshot internship so that they get a lil impressed and reconsider me??or should i just keep shut and wait?? i just hope they accept me!

I am an intl student accepted with a $41,000 award. I do have a quick question - if I was needing more aid, how should I go about it? Calculated costs equate to $57,000 to attend MHC in 2011.

Thanks!

waitlisted…I felt so lucky because my standarized test result is below the average…
I’m so thankful that they didn’t reject me right away…I still trying my best to convinve them. I sent an email today to show them the things I did during my exchange student year. I hope they really do reconsider my credentials again…
I WANT TO BE A MOHO!!!

@MissFem: $57,000? are you sure? In my acceptance letter they said something of $55,000 per year…

I haven’t received my acceptance letter in the mail yet Anyone else?
Are any of you guys going to the admitted student program in the spring? Does MHC pay for it?

Thanks!!! :D

I also haven’t received my acceptance package yet. But I’m in England so that might take longer.
Has any of you (especially international ones) tried to ask for aid reconsideration? I seriously need more aid to be able to attend MoHo =.=
