@Friday13th thanks for the suggestion. and i am too thinking about asking for aid consideration. i emailed MHC and they told me to fill out another form if conditions have changed in my family, which is pretty much what has happened (my grandmom’s health condition deteriorated more after i applied RD so the medical bills are higher now, and she doesn’t have health insurance ) so if anything has changed, maybe u can apply too

I am thinking of writing an appeal letter as well. Do u have any idea whether I should send it now or wait until I receive my package?

@Cllge2011: I received an email saying that they are paying for all the expenses for my trip to MHC for the admitted students program. But when I signed up there was an option that said that you needed aid to get there. Hope I get to see you there :)

@pinklilyflower: When did the option about aid appear? After you submitted the registration form with your name, etc.?

@tiffanysummer…lets do our best to convince them.i am waitlisted too…MHC is my dream!!!

@Charlotte: Well I registered last week, so there was an option that said: I will need airfare assistance. It was on the page you registered on, it was choice B. But you needed to register before the 23rd to get that

@Seriousrem I know!!!Do you know how many people are waitlisted? AO sent me an email regarding my questions about the waiting list. She said they had as many as 700 or as few as 250 and they use to select 0-50, not many really…but i still have hope for it!

Congratulations to all that have been admitted. Wonderful opportunities, intellectual challenges, and friendships await your arrival!!! I’m sure you’ll find, as my daughter did, that you are MoHome :)

I visited the page several times and never saw this option. Maybe, it’s because I was accepted under ED and am an international student.
I have sent MHC an email a week ago and asked for aid for the traveling expenses, but I haven’t received an answer yet. :-(

Don’t expect to get ANY financial assistance to visit MHC in April for the open house if you are an ED acceptee. The ONLY point of the open house is convince acceptees who have been accepted at OTHER colleges to enroll at MHC. If you are an ED acceptee, YOU ARE CONTRACTUALLY OBLIGATED TO GO to MHC. You need no further convincing. The only reason you’d be visiting in April is out of curiosity. You should be able to wait until you arrive at MHC for good. If not, it should be on your dime (or Euro). In my opinion, no college should spend their resources to pay for ED acceptees to visit the school – the money should be spent on other causes, like M&Cs.

Did anyone else get a personalized congradulation email?

@mitul63: I kind of got an personal email, but mine was more about the fact that they are going to pay for all the expenses for me to go visit MHC :)

Ah lol they wrote about how my essay was touching and how I should choose Mount Holyoke as my first stage in my medical career.

Huh, nice I wish I got that. Are you planning on going to MHC mitul?

I got an email after I sent my enrollment deposit, but nothing grand or personal. I’m going to accepted students day even though I’ve already enrolled. Even though I still need to haggle a bit about aid, I think it’s a great package.

I got in!!!

^Confratulations!!! So happy for you :)

@pinklilyflower: Congrats on the personal message, and the covered expenses for the admitted students program!!! It’s defnitely obvious that MHC loves you and wants you to attend! I’m going to try to come in the Spring, so hopefully I will see you! :D

Congrats to everyone else, as well!

All the options for Admitted Student Days are days I’m in school (I assume they scheduled the dates based on the usual high school spring break, but my college’s spring break has already passed). Harumph!

I know! I’m on spring break right now! Hopefully you can make it though! :)

Wait, are you a transfer applicant too? If so, glad to have another one on the forum; we’re certainly a smaller group and are underrepresented on here!
