I am extremely impressed with how Tulane manages move-in. We took our time in the morning, slept in, got Cafe du Monde, went to Chase to open son's account. We didn't arrive on campus until 12:30. No lines, no waiting, 10 students from the move in crew surrounding our car to help. It was THE perfect time to arrive!

Convocation was such a nice start. My favorite quote: Every great journey starts with a first step, and in New Orleans, a Second Line. :). Loved it!!

Oh, and not one tear. Yet. We will go quickly say goodbye this evening.

GreenWaveMama: I join in! It went great for us as well. Also “fortified” with coffee ah lait (and Bienets) from Cafe du Monde, we started a bit late. But the student helpers were terrific, and we finished fast. It was painless (except for leaving my son).

We had a few more things to pick up today, so I will be seeing him briefly to pass things along & say farewell. I won’t see him until Christmas break. Seeing how comfortable he is here, I can fly back to Maine knowing he will be just fine.

I’m still amazed that I didn’t have to carry a single thing up to her room. We arrived right at 8 because she had to go get her splash card before she could check in and we weren’t sure how long anything would take. By 8:20 she was back to Wall able to check in and all of her things were outside her door. We left about 10:30 to go to BBB, no line there, fetched her order along with a few more things, and went back and let them move those things up for her too!

I do wish the meeting and convocation had been a little later to give more time to get the room done, but it was nice to be home by 9:30pm.

So glad everyone’s move in went so well. Hard to believe it was 5 years ago that we did the same (though did so in the early morning and had to walk up 11 flights of stairs to allow the luggage to take the elevator).
