So what should we all expect the day of Move In? How does it work? Do you just go straight to your room once you get there or do you have to check in? Should you park first and then unload your things or is there an unloading zone right by the dorms? Tips, help, info, anything would be appreciated :)...

You have to check in, where you will get a key, then you move all your stuff into your room. Then you're on your own to go around, meet people, chill out in your room (start downloading stuff :), etc)

When you get to campus, you will be directed by CSO's where to park based on the hall you live in. There will be plenty of people around to help you with anything you might need, so don't worry too much about it.

If I live close and move in early, can I move in and then go home the next day to get more stuff? Or do I have to stay at UCLA once I move in?

you can always go home whenever you want! LOL

this is college!

although it is recommended that you at least stay at UCLA for a week or two to get settled in and to meet new people, then you can always pick up the rest of the not-as-important stuff from home during the weekend.
