Movie/TV Show Allusions to Penn

<p>What movies or TV shows do you guys know of that have mentioned or alluded to Penn? Here’s what I have off the top of my head:</p>

<li><p>Mona Lisa Smile: The Yale Law girl’s boyfriend gets into Penn grad school and she decides to live with him in Philly instead of attending Yale.</p></li>
<li><p>The Village: The primary village elder mentions he is a Penn history professor.</p></li>
<li><p>Friday Night Lights: The Midland doctor mentions that his son goes to Penn and Boobie thinks he’s talking about Penn State but the doc corrects him, haha.</p></li>
<li><p>Something’s Gotta Give: Penn is mentioned during dinner.</p></li>
<li><p>Legally Blonde: Wharton is mentioned when the first years talk about their educational history.</p></li>
<li><p>The Simpsons: Ned goes on a date with a businesswoman that mentions she’s a Wharton MBA. There was also a Penn State pennant in Sideshow Bob’s old house.</p></li>
</ul>

<p>In the HBO show Entourage, Kevin mentions that his young competitors in the industry have Wharton MBA's</p>

<p>In an recent episode of the West Wing, Santos (Jimmy Smitts) gives a campaign speech on the UPenn campus.</p>

<p>on boy meets world, they go to penn state, still i guess that isnt upenn, but you did mention the penn state thing in sideshow bobs house so i guess i can mention it here.</p>

<p>In the second season of the Apprentice, when one Trump's interviewers is interviewing Kwami (I believe), he said he went to Wharton.</p>

<p>Trump himself went to Wharton of course, and he's mentioned that lots of times on his show.</p>

<p>this isn't a movie/tv show, but in the novel, the lovely bones, ray singh goes to penn.</p>

<p>In the movie Philadelphia, Tom Hanks does research in Furness (the Fine Arts library).</p>

<p>The football stadium/subway scenes in Unbreakable are shot at Franklin Field and University City Station.</p>

<p>The older brother in Inventing the Abbots (give me a break, it was on HBO) goes to Penn.</p>

<p>Invincible (about Vince Papale) was just filmed here in Franklin Field.</p>

<p>The game MAGIC (yes, the nerdy D&Desque card game) was invented at Penn by a doctoral student.</p>

<p>Van Wilder's father says "Cancel my appointment at the Wharton school" before getting into his car in his opening scene.</p>

<p>On the Apprentice, one of the female contestants was a Wharton grad and Trump said that "the smartest people in the world go to the wharton school."</p>

<p>On the Esquared Show, he talked about this college forum that had a thread dedicated to finding tv show/movie allusions to a specific university</p>

<p>You remember on the one bonus episode of Who's The Boss...</p>

<p>Nah, me neither.</p>

<p>On Fresh Prince, Uncle Phil not only disses Penn State but also mentions Penn. He gets in an argument with a doctor, and the doctor tells he went to Penn State. Uncle Phil tells him that he was going to consider going there if his scholarships to "Princeton, Wharton, Yale and Tuskaloosa Tech fell through"</p>

<p>Because Trump went to Wharton......</p>

<p>because trump is my daddy.</p>

<p>Then, have some respect and at least capitalize him...........</p>
