Moving In Experience

I thought I’d share the fact that moving my son into FSU (DeGraff) was an incredibly positive experience. The entire staff and in particular the campus police were courteous, helpful, and in short turned a very stressful time into a wonderful memory. One point for the future for fellow parents out there. You will get a mailing from a linen company offering up all the supplies your son or daughter will need. Avoid the service, The quality was terrible. Just get what you want at your local Bed Bath & Beyond, and you just pick it up right near campus. We had to buy all new stuff and they were very easy. There’s also a nearby Kohl’s and Target. Overall a great experience, and I can assure you my son who is OOS is very much at ease.

Had a similar experience moving my son into Landis. Other than dodging the downpour, it went well. A squad of students grabbed his stuff took it upstairs, saving the parental backs. The Target in Tally is like Dorms R’Us - twice as much college stuff as in any other Target I’ve been.

I agree @subtropicus and @Newtownunit moving my son into Wildwood was a very positive experience…the UPS men were patient and wonderful (I had my sons clothes/item shipped from NY). I paid $9.00 per box (4boxes) for them to bring those boxes to his dorm (they were very heavy and big)…The Target in Tally was huge…had 2x as many items as my local Target…and BB&Beyond was GREAT! quick and easy pick up!!!
