Just wondering (since I've never had experience with this before).. how are you supposed to move all of your luggage and stuff to Penn on move in day? I mean.. we all have a lot of things to carry, and I'm a pretty tech savvy guy so I need to move 2 desktops and monitors.. guh

Are you talking about the logistics of moving things to your dorm? If so, don’t worry… you’ll be fine. There are plenty of people there to help with stuff like that.

more importantly, why are you bringing two desktops and monitors? It is highly unlikely that you will have enough room to fit both of those things in addition to the rest of your life into a dorm…

First off, why two desktops? That just seems redundant lol. As far as monitors go, you’ll definitely be able to fit two monitors on the standard issue desks that the rooms come with–I fit my two monitors (22" and 24") side-by-side and there’s still enough width left for a desk lamp next to them. If you move the keyboard, there’s more than enough room to have a book open, scribble notes, etc.

Move-in is REALLY simple. When you show up, there are a bunch of upperclassmen with cardboard carts that they’ll help you to fill up with all your stuff. You’ll bring it to your room, empty it, and repeat as many times as is necessary. Pretty stress-free, but VERY exciting. Just make sure that when you get your housing assignment, you check out the room diagram online before packing! If your room is a smaller double, pack light. If you’re in a triple or a large double, you’ll probably be able to fit just about anything that fits into a medium-sized car–my room is a large double (16’x16’) and I moved in with a fully loaded minivan.

^Pack as much as you can but then you should partake in Bed Bath and Beyond’s pack and hold program where you scan things at your local BBB store and then go to the one in Philly to pick it up(there’s one 15 minutes away from Penn, or you can pay a fee for it to be delivered.)

And it’s good to leave stuff at home so when you come back for the holidays, you don’t have to worry about lugging everything back.
