Moving out of dorms - summer storage

My daughter will be a soph next year and will be living in Nicholson (?). We live in NY, so I am just looking for advice regarding moving out of East, and storing her things for the summer. I'm sure that these storage places book up early, so I'm trying to get a jump on things. Time flies. Thanks!!

hurdledan1 - that sounds like a great service. Last summer, my son rented a storage unit somewhere in town and he and his future (this year) roommates all stored their stuff in there. So glad that they are all staying together in the same apartment for next year - so no need to move! YEAH!!!

Oh - and the best part - when I flew up with DS last August to get him moved in just before Blue Band camp - his roommates had already gotten all his stuff out! Good guys!!!

Not affiliated with them at all, but it looks like such services exist:
[Penn State University - PSU - Student Summer Storage and Shipping - State College, PA | Storage Squad](http://www.storagesquad.com/penn-state-university/).
A few more show up with a search. Good luck!

um…where did hurdledan1’s post go???

She is going to live in Nicholson and attend Penn State? I am probably misunderstanding but that seems like a bit of a drive… Regardless I think that using self-storage would be your best option for keeping her stuff safe over the summer. They should have locations near where she is living ([Find Self Storage Facilities at SelfStorage.com](http://www.selfstorage.com)) and usually most facilities will have specials for college kids storing their things over the summer.

Also like Grcxx3 stated, if you can get a group of people together and split that unit, that would be even better. It will allow you to get a larger unit while hopefully decreasing the cost pretty significantly.
