Moving Out Of Parents' House - Still in HS

I'm still a senior in high school, and I am finally 18! LEGAL.

I was wondering if anyone had any experiences about moving out of their parents' house while still in HS... Or advice - how you went about doing it, how it's viewed by colleges, financial situations, etc.

Erm, is there a specific reason why? If you're an independent, the financial burden falls on YOUR shoulders.

In which YOU are too poor to pay so YOU get lots of financial aid.

eh...it's not a good idea, really. just wait until college, seriously, it's close enough.

That's the upside, but as far as I know, it doesn't cover housing. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

:)

it's not that easy, you have to be independent for a year to qualify for any I think. research it first.

hm? if ur parents are that bad, report them. then again, that dont do much. just a few more months right

I would love to move out of my house right now only cause it's really stressful around here, but financially there is no way i'd afford it. You are going to have real bad money troubles in the future if you plan on it. You'd pay probably rent, utilities, car payments, insurance...or well at least I would have to. But what's the point, if you're getting out in a 6 months anyways? Don't p*iss money up a rope...save it for college.

As far as colleges are concerned, your parents have an obligation to provide for yuor college up to their EFC whether you choose to live with them or not. Living separately from them does not make you emancipated for financial aid purposes.
