I was #185 when I uploaded my audition!

I don’t know about last year, but I just checked and in 2010 D got her acceptance e-mail on March 2. As I recall there was also a second wave of kids who found out a bit later.

One of D’s friends who was a rising Junior the year he attended MPulse went to Cherubs at Northwestern the following summer. D never did Cherubs, but her friend loved it so much he decided to apply binding ED to NU this year, so I assume it was a great experience for him.

Good luck everyone… MPulse was wonderful!

My mistake on an earlier post- email acceptances last year were FEB 23 and reject letters FEB 28/ not March

Never mind… losing it. it was March. Wishful thinking.

This could be a problem… Deadline for all material is today. I certified mail the letter of recommendation on Jan 27 will expected delivery to be Jan 30. The tracking still does not show it delivered. Last track date is Jan28. I emailed Mpulse office to confirm receipt but have not heard back. hmmm

I’m sure they’ll understand!

How is it that you all seem to know your application number? I don’t have record of ours and did not print out anything…did I miss something? I have to agree it was quite time-consuming for a summer program, but good practice for next year’s auditions, I guess! I have to find a way to compress files before then, as it took about an hour to upload for every minute we had recorded!

When you registered to upload they gave you a “track id” number and a “secret code”. It just seemed like the track ID was the number audition received. It may not be, I’m just guessing. I wrote them down in case I had to leave and get back in- and I did.

Atlast, What file format did you use? My uploads took a few minutes even though each was about 30 MB.

Gotcha! Forgot all about that tracking ID, but I did just find a sticky note in the Mpulse file with that info, and it looks like D’s was 123, a nice number!

Our videos were all MVI, and I am a computer idiot, so that’s what we loaded! Our files were ranging from 142 MB to 327 MB each, which is why I need to learn how to compress them! They were each no more than a few minutes long.

Mine were made with Imovie on a MAC and were about 30MG each. Yours are big but the only issue is upload time. The site should be able to handle them fine. Good Luck. Our rec letter has still not been received by them. 7 days/certified? USPS stinks! I think we will be in trouble with that. No one has responded yet.

D sent her rec lttr directly from her school, as she’s out of state, and I uploaded other items from home. I didn’t even think to confirm whether they rec’d that lttr from her! Something new to worry about! I know they have received all else from my end though. On with the waiting to hear back…the hardest part!

It said everything needed to be in by the deadline so I certified it. Mpulse has not answered my email. There is now an update on USPS. It went thru the Detroit sorting center TODAY! 7 days after it was mailed. So it is late. It says right on the page that expected delivery is Jan 30. Whatever… I can’t worry about it. Nothing I can do at this point.

Not to worry. I sent an email to the contact listed on the MPULSE website page.

I specifically asked if the recommendation letter had to be RECEIVED by Feb. 1.

This is a direct copy from the email response.
“Your recommendations may be postmarked by Feb. 1st.”

Thank you! I did get an email back today that said his application is complete. It looks like it got there but the tracking is not correct- and they collect money for that service. One less thing to worry about!

Hello! Like qjo2882, I also went to MPulse last summer and it was absolutely amazing! I had also auditioned for BTP and got in there, too, but I chose MPulse- You can do BTP in college as well. Apparently, there were so many applicants last year that they chose only rising seniors. I’ve done Stagedoor as well, so if anyone has questions about that, I’d be happy to answer them, too good luck to all!

My D was one of the rising juniors who applied last year. Wish we’d have known prior to her audition that it would be limited to rising seniors. She’s trying again, last chance, this year! Would love to hear what college programs last years’ participants ended up attending! So hard to narrow down the choices…but it sounds like this program was great for college audition prep, which is probably our D’s main goal at this time.

Not last year, but as I recall from the 2010 MPulse class (I don’t remember where everyone went) I think 4-5 chose UMich, 4-5 chose Northwestern, 2 chose CCM, 2 Penn State, 1 chose Yale, 1 U of Oklahoma (opera), 1 Ithaca, 1 Webster… I’m obviously forgetting a bunch of people so maybe someone else (mybroadwaybaby ?) from that class can pitch in.

I have been accepted to Penn State, which is exciting, and now I am waiting to hear back from Umich and Ithaca, and I also have one more audition left! The acceptances are few and far between, but in a few weeks they will start pouring in!
