Congrats All! Last year, Mark Madama did not teach at the workshop, however it could be different this year. A normal day at Mpulse is as follows:
7:30: Students must be at breakfast.
8:30: Students go to either dance class or acting—At the beginning of the workshop, the dance instructor will split up the students into an advanced group and “less advanced group.”
10:00: Students switch classes.
11:30 Lunch! (Yay)
1:00: Class with Mr. Wagner—sometimes working on Acting in the Song, later in the workshops more faculty come in and help students with their voices.
3:00 (Not exactly) Go to another class, sometimes more dance will be in the afternoon, other times this is History of MT/ Analyzation of Lyrics, etc.
5:00 Dinner
6:30/7:00: Some activity, depends on the night
9:00: Relax/HW time—we didn’t always have much time here.
10:00: Must be in Halls.
On the weekends, we went to the pool, the beach, performances, and Ann Arbor.

Congratulations to your S theatremomma and to all others receiving acceptances! Let us know who will be attending. My D is definitely attending.

Mark Madama usually directs shows at Music Theatre of Wichita which overlap with the time period of MPulse.

Congratulations to your S as well md311mt!!! Will he be attending?

I would suggest for the students to create a Facebook group—it was very nice to talk to and get to know future MPulse peers.

We will be talking about it the next few days to make a decision by Sunday. TPAP sent an email this week asking if we had decided. Tough call.

we have not heard. Assuming it is a no. Will try again for next year…
does anyone know if there is a wait list??

Our email asked to respond to the email by Monday as a courtesy to all applicants on the wait list; so I would say “yes”, there is certainly a wait list. Whether or not people have been notified they are on the wait list, I cannot say.

My S received an acceptance email today too! So excited - congrats to all! He’s a junior, and he plans to attend.

Loved reading all the input on here.

Congratulations to all of you that received emails today. My S did not receive one. He is a rising Junior so there is next year. Can someone tell me who sent the email so I can watch my inbox just in case he is an alternate and gets the email next week?

D called me today to say she had received an acceptance email (from Robyn). The email said for those who applied for need-based aid, they will be responding “in the coming days” so that part is uncertain. However, they are asking for a reply by the 19th. Gotta think fast!

It is from Robin Myrick. We were in the same position as you last year and did not get in. He had a fabulous summer at BTP. We are lucky to have 2 choices this year. There will be people who make other choices so spots should open up. It was disappointing to not get in last year and I think he would have chosen Mpluse over BTP last year. But look at the difference a year makes. Good luck!

Does anyone know how people on the waiting list are notified?

Did anyone reading this blog get accepted after the March 14 email date last year? Was there a second wave of acceptances? Maybe the wait list and not knowing they were on the wait list?
Ahhh just wishful thinking…But, congrats to all of you who got in! Let us know your experience after for those of us who will try again for next year! Also people who go to
TPAP- love to hear what you think of that program

Someone on here said acceptances would come through email by March 15 so I’m hoping some may still arrive tomorrow or even wait list information. Still hoping! Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!

Look back on this thread- I think there was a girl accepted after the original date- and I think she was a sophomore. Seemed like she may have come off the wait list- if i remember.

There were no sophomores last year at MPulse. And for anyone deciding between Mpulse and another program… keep in mind that you can attend other programs in the future, but this is the only chance to attend MPulse (unless you are a sophomore and can try again next year). It is such a great opportunity to discover what life and learning will be like if you decide to pursue a BFA in MT in college. Excellent training, nice kids and wonderful memories.

Anyone know how those on the waitlist are notified?

My son just declined Mpulse. Good luck wait listers!

I think you said your son was deciding between Mpulse and TPAP- If so, why
did he choose TPAP instead? Trying to figure out what each program offers and
why kids choose what
THanks and good luck!
