If we were waitlisted (do not have that luxury) and were told the list was not “ranked” I would definately write to confirm our abundant interest in the program. (Are they telling you they pull a name out of hat and people randomly come off the waitlist?). They may say it is not ranked because who comes off the wait list depends largely upon who declines - boy or girl - tenor or baritone - dancer or nondancer. Who knows, maybe it is completely “random” - seems unlikely though.

I think I also read somewhere – maybe here — that they don’t send out scholarship info until April 1? Maybe someone can correct me on this? If so, I would think there could be a decline at that point as it is possible some require a scholarship to attend. You might even ask that question: Do you have any present indication of a possible decline (s)? When are scholarships determined? But you might want to wait a week before asking any more questions. Important to walk line between expressing interest and being a pest.

Theatermomma - do you recall when money was due?

No, but I still have the email. Here’s the part about responding and I guess if we would have accepted they would have told us about the deposit:

As a courtesy to all applicants on our wait list, we are asking that you reply to this email to confirm you participation in our summer Musical Theatre Workshop. Please reply to this email by Monday, March 19th before noon and let us know of your intentions. (“you will be attending” / “you will not be attending, because…”).

We received the email on March 14, so we had 5 days to respond. Good luck!

tramsmom- just saw the scholarship question: email:

Unfortunately, we are not able to offer you a merit award, but If you have requested consideration for need-based funding, and have already submitted the required documentation, we will consider you for this assistance in the coming days. Notification of need-based assistance will be sent under separate cover.

Does anyone know if there is an actual deadline that waitlisted students should know by? In other words, if you haven’t heard from us, then best to move on… I guess in a way, it is best to move on anyways as it seems as though the probabiity is low. But, then you never know!!!

The next date on the calendar for those on the waitlist (almost forgot the “short” adjective!) is May 1.

anyone get off the wait list for Mpuls MT?

Called yesterday morning and the word was that they did not need to go to their waitlist for MT. I’m passing that on second-hand.

Supposedly the final, official “thank you, but no thank you” email was to go out yesterday afternoon but nothing in our inbox yet.

Does anyone know if recommendations also had to be in by the priority deadline? I sent my app in well before but an email has not been mailed to our vocal coach. So confused.
Thanks!

We submitted my s application a couple weeks ago and within days we heard back from his teacher that she had received the email from mpulse and had submitted the recommendation. So my guess is there was a “glitch” somewhere, maybe the wrong email was entered or it ended up in a junkmail folder.
