I was a non-accounting major for my undergrad degree, so in order to apply to a Master of Science in Accounting program, I must complete some undergraduate accounting courses as prerequisites. I can take most at my local community college, but the ones not offered I need to take online (local State University only offers ACC during the day, but I work 9-5…) Anyone else doing something similar? Know where I can get my courses in?
Courses in question are:
advanced financial, US federal income tax, and auditing
PS- local community college does offer business income tax and individual income tax as separate courses, so at this point I’m treating them as if they don’t satisfy the above requirement.
Late for OPs, but perhaps useful to someone else: Brigham Young University offers online courses. My D is taking their introductory accounting course (Financial Accounting) and is enjoying it. I’m not sure if they offer the particular courses you seek. Southern NH University most likely has the courses you’re looking for since they offer a completely online undergrad degree in accounting. I can’t speak to the quality – no experience or even hearsay.
Hey there - try looking at University of Alabama - Birmingham. They have both a BS in Accounting and an MS in Accounting online. Earlier this year I floated the idea of getting my Master’s and they said I could take the prereq’s online through them.
