MS in Human Resources

Hi there,

I'm a Canadian looking to get a masters in HR and I would like to either do it in Chicago or Milwaukee. I've narrowed it down to Loyoloa Chicago, DePaul, Marquette and UW-Milwaukee. Does anyone know anything about these schools or programs? Pros and cons? I don't think I'll be able to visit for a couple months but I'd like to get as much info as I can before I do.

Hey i was in your situation, sort of. I have no clue of those colleges but i do have something to offer.

Quoting what one adviser told me.

People often start in a particular functional area like HR but often discover they want to do more as they gain experience. This might be a move into general management, a move into consulting (HR consulting is a big business), or simply management of a large HR function (which is rather like a general management assignment). The MBA is better preparation for these types of moves. A master’s in HR pretty much means you will likely be an analyst, recruiter, compensation specialist or something similar. I do believe the MBA is the stronger foundation.

Hope this helps.
