MSB Is it any good?

Got accepted here, but leaning towards UCLA or USC. Especially USC due to Marshall being ranked 9th in the nation. I know rankings don't mean much, but I hear enough about this crazy Trojan Family all the time.

With that being said, Georgetown is as impressive and prestigious as a school can get. Am I stupid for turning down Gtown to go to USC (where kids get in that would have no hope at even applying at Gtown?) Or am I making the right decision by overlooking the whole prestige factor, and deciding what the best business school is. Thanks.

If you want to live in LA, then a USC degree would be "worth" more. If you plan on working anywhere else in the country, then I would say go with Georgetown.

jonkt345 , exact same situation for me too... Let me know when you make a decision! (I'm deciding between Georgetown, Cal and USC ) and VERY much leaning towards usc, because of L.A and marshall...

usc i sent you a pm

i'm in a similar situation except with msb and nyu stern...don't know what to do...better to get a better overall education or to go to a better undergrad business school...?

moose35 , you better choose the place u'll feel most comfortable at... U'll be spending four years there so it has to be a place you like and dont rely ONLY on reputation or "prestige"... Anyways good luck!
and good luck to everyone in the same situation as we are!

"i'm in a similar situation except with msb and nyu stern...don't know what to do...better to get a better overall education or to go to a better undergrad business school...?"

Same here dude, same here. I've gone back and forth a few times, but right now I'm on the Georgetown stroke. The way I see it, Georgetown has the more traditional college experience you only get to have once (campus and all), plus I already live in NYC and would probably never live elsewhere except for college.

I'm also starting to second-guess my decision to go for business as an undergraduate--I mean, I want to have a career in business but I'm not sure business school at 18 will be best for me. With this in mind, I think Georgetown would allow me to better keep my options open.

Then (as I understand it) Stern is hella competitive and about 50% Asian (nothing against Asians, I just know that sort of break-down means there's some serious studying going on) and I don't know if I want to kill myself like that.

Eh I'm a third one on the MSB against Stern problem. I agree that it's a personal decisions based on who are as a whole... But I am not sure that I know exactly that I want. I've always wondered exactly why Georgeotwn gets an A on academics... Everyone is happy, but why?

If you're familiar or bought books like College Pr0wler, can you help me shed some light here?

Of course I am an Asian and competitive... =)
