I have 31 credits and have a 3.77 from Oakland university. I got a 3.66 than a 3.875 this semester. The only thing is at Oakland I took MIS 100 which is a business class besides WRT 150 for my first semester which is the first semester of a series at my university I attend now. I completed it my second semster with a 3.8 but I need to take WRT 160 the second part and that class is a necessary requirment for transfer students because you need WRA 110 and only WRT 160 covers that. Look it up Transfer Admission Criteria - Admission | Michigan State University Office of Admissions it's the first bullet point.

On my application I put that I am taking WRT 160 in the summer and on additional information I bring up the fact that I will complete it this summer. But I will for sure get a answer before I even start the summer class!

Admission counselors from state said my GPA is so high I should apply anyways. So what do you think?

Many people have said not to even apply. But one admission counselor said to take a shot, other said you should be fine…

I am also applying to Broad

I am a little confused by your post. Are you trying to transfer directly into Broad? Because I am fairly certain you need 56 credits in order to transfer directly into Broad, and you have to have completed all of the prerequisite courses. What semester are you trying to transfer for? As that link says, you need to have the writing requirement completed one full semester before you transfer, so if you are trying to transfer for Winter 2014, you should be fine.

Finance major is technically a limited major at state and yes eventually I would be in broad

What semester are you going for? It’s rolling admissions so i’m betting slots are filling up fast.
Fall 2013 might be full by the time they can technically accept you.
As for your gpa, that’s solid.

You’ll get in, but it might be a push for fall 2013 since you don’t have the writing requirement completed yet.

it will be hard for them to reject me…

Ok? So why are you asking for chances then?

For Fall 2013 you have no chance because MSU wants transfer students to complete the Writing and math requirement one full semester before the desired term of enrollment. For any semester past that i’d say your chances are very high.

Too bad i got in on contingency for the class hahahahahaha bad advice my friend!!!

i REPEAT 3.77 GPA from Oakland University with no WRT 160 got accepted but i am taking it in the summer!!!

wow that’s crazy. At the transfer admission presentation they said that these requirements need to be completed full semester ahead of time. Anyways congrats!!!

Yea well a 3.77 is really good so they made an exception i guess and I bet they would for others. Just have above a 3.6

In my first semester I got a 3.5. This semester my GPA dropped to 3.2(I took 20 credits and none of the classes were blow off). I completed the english requirement and sent in my transcript. Now i’m waiting for them to receive it and make their decision.

Well I just talked to an admissions counselor over the phone after calling under grad admissions and I got in over phone

Let me know if you get in

I’m in the 14th week right now. They received my updated transcript on May 20th. Hopefully i’ll hear back soon. Do you think I should call? Does calling show interest or do they not even care?

Just got accepted this morning!! the letter was dated the 1st, but took a while to update the portal was going to call to inquire and decided to check my email first and saw my decision letter. Thank God, well it took exactly 6 months since I applied and they finally replied…so happy.

Congrats, so many people here are getting accepted. If I don’t make it i’m going to fall into depression.
