Anyone hear anything?

nope, still waiting.

Same here.

I got a letter in the mail today. I was placed on the alternate list. Hopefully some people will decide not to go so I have a shot.

I probably won't go if I get in, but that probably won't happen either. Still waiting.

If u do get in buckwald, please give up ur spot! haha, just kidding (no, actually i'm not.)lol

I talked to the other 2 people from my school that were finalists. One of them was rejected and the other was accepted. I'm hoping the alternate list shifts a lot so I can get in. This is my #1 choice by far.

Antique, since you are also in-state you probably will hear sooner than buckwald. Please post your status as soon as you hear. Good luck to both of you!

P.S. Antique, how did MedStart at Wayne go? About 10 people from my school made top 50 but only 1 made top 30. um, wow.....lol

Hey, I got into MSU's 7 year program! Only problem is they want me to notify them by March 25th, which is before i hear from other programs.

Congrats buckwald! Are you going to notify them that you are indeed going to attend, or will you allow a lowly alternate like myself live out his dream? :)

A friend of mine from school was accepted to the DO Medical Scholars Program from MSU. I only applied to the MD, but did anyone else here apply DO?

Wow, just got into MedStart at Wayne and Im ecstatic!! I've got this awesome University Scholarship and all and I'm just so happy!

Getting back to MSU's...yeah, I got rejected. I'm sure u'd surmised as much by now. Congrats on making it to the waitlist though! Don't give up hope spydersport!!

Oh yeah, I think I know who ur talking about from ur school in the top 30. Initials M.S. right? I wonder if she got in?

I've got a big prob though. I've also got a full tuition at Ann Arbor, so the decision is seeming a little harder now. Anyone any input?! Thnx

antique

Antique- Wow! That's awesome that you were accepted to MedStart. I'm going to be attending Wayne State this fall as well (I got the Presidential Scholarship), unless of course if I get accepted to the Medical Scholars Program.

M.S. is the one from my school that got top 30. I'll find out if she got in on Sunday when I see her again.

If I was in your shoes, I'd accept MedStart and attend there. The great thing about MedStart is that they encourage and help you in applying to other medical schools after your 4 undergraduate years. You can always try to get into the UMich Med School, and if you don't get in, you have Wayne State as a backup! Not many people will be able to say that they have a backup medical school waiting for them. Congratulations on your acceptances!

Just checked out ur response at SDN. I'm getting this deja vu talking to u on two forums!!

Yeah, M.S. seemed pretty nice. I really wanna know who the other 14 are.

I hope u get off the waitlist at MSU as it seems u really wanna go there. When will u find out for sure? I'm fairly certain Buckwald's going to HPME so that's one seat empty. Depends on where u are on teh waitlist I suppose.

Well GL!!!!

Yeah, deja vu here as well. :)

M.S. may seem nice, but....eh don't get me started.

I would love to get off the waitlist at MSU because then I don't have to worry about the MCAT or anything, but I'm looking forward to a fun 4 years at Wayne State otherwise!

Wow! Congrats to you both! Antique, its awesome to have something like that. Spyder, keep your hope up, I'am sure you will get a spot! My friend applied to both and got rejected.

The loser that I'am, still wondering if I should go to Wane State or Mercy, were I got a scolarship! I'm still trying to get to know more about UDM. Having a hard time.

Hey,

I found this post through searching online for info about the med scholars program. I'm was admitted into the Medical Scholars program at MSU sometime in March/April. Im still deciding between this and the Air Force Academy. Email me if you got in and if you are attending the capstone/reception this 23rd. Im going up to michigan tommorrow (April 21) and would like to know someone there and if this is a first choice. Is this a prestigious program? I dont know much about it except the gaurenteed admittance into med school.

i already did....`

I just got to say wow! Your guys stats are amazing. I am currently a sophmore and have a 3.8 GPA involed in a lot of ECs and have applied to volunteer at several hospitals. I know medicine is the career for me. The question is what should I do to improve my stats as a sophmore. In order to get into the medstart programs at either Wayne State or MSU
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
