Hi! Okay so I’m currently a junior in HS and am planning on majoring in MT in college. However, my grades aren’t stellar. I have multiple D’s in math classes. I also got a 26 on my ACT but I’m taking it again. I have a lot of EC’s though. As an estimate, what would you say my chances are of being accepted? Thanks in advance for the help (:

Can’t say - mostly about the audition - I don’t know if the grades will hurt you my d got in with a 26 on the act - but she had a weighted 4.0 gpa

My GPA is 4.3 on a 5.0 scale, if that helps!

Laneybug, from our recent experience, I would say get your grades up as much as you can! This whole experience is extremely cut-throat and you don’t want a school to pick someone else over you because of grades. The Universities are getting a lot of pressure now to be sure that every student accepted can graduate from their school. Sometimes your acceptance to a Musical Theatre or Acting program is put on hold until you are academically accepted. Definitely get your ACT score as high as possible, get your grades as high as possible and train as hard as possible! It will be worth it, I promise.
