Hi, okay thanks for chancing me! Just FYI, I'm planning on majoring in Musical Theatre, but I'd like to gage my academic acceptance situation.

-Junior at prestigious private college prep school
-GPA 4.02 (unweighted)
-ACT 32
-PSAT 198
-Many honors classes, but no AP since my school has only 1 (awesome, right?)
-Just FYI, my GPA dropped pretty dramatically b/c of an extended absence from school for health reasons (finished semester w/ independent study)

EC's
-Thespians 3 years
-Speech Team finalist 3 years (winning 3rd & 4th place)
-STUCO President Sophomore year
-School Musicals every year--many leads
-Professional Musical Theatre Touring Troupe (outside of school)
-Volunteer/perform in benefit shows
-Dance and Voice lessons
-Interlochen Summer camp
-Speaker/Lobbyist for state bill

Okay guess that's it..
Chances for:
-University of Michigan
-NYU
-CMU (major reach, I know)
-Northwestern
-Oklahoma City University
-Indiana University
-Elon
-Boston University

You might get more replies if you post this on the musical theatre major forum!

But, people will probably tell you that the most important thing is the audition, and that just stats will tell them nothing about you as a performer and candidate for an MT program.

My D auditioned for a few of these:
U Mich - be sure to have your music chops up: theory, piano in addition to a kicking performance audition.
NYU - my D was picked by her auditioner for CAPS 21, but was waitlisted by a 26 ACT; 1200 SAT (old scoring). Her GPA & Resume were fabulous.
CMU - did not reply! Can't tell you what the problem was:-)
OCU - she chose (#2 choice after NYU). The class before hers was large - about 35, I think. They took only 10 males & 10 females her year, and the current group is big again. Best of luck deciding!

i think your academics are definitely on par. so i think you are in academically, but your audition will determine whether you are in to the mt program. but seeing all your experience (interlochen, triple-threat, etc), i think you have a really good shot.
