Saw posts about other dorms but none for Muir so I though I’d start one. Current Muir students, please give your perspective. Incoming students, feel free to post other questions you may have.

What is Muir college life like? What do you like best? What’s the worst?
How are the dorms? Noisy, quiet, boring, fun, secure?
Is it really dead on the weekends? I can’t imagine it being so dead with all the overcrowding I’m reading about.
How’s the food? I heard it was expensive.
How are your GE classes?
Are there really a lot of activities?
How’s the RA?
How are the teachers?

Is it easy to get help from a TA?

It’s not “dead”, there’s always something to do, although a majority of people do tend to keep to there rooms. I really liked the food at first, and it’s not all to expensive. It’s really a hit or miss kind of thing. I’m tired of it after two quarters… not enough variety to keep me interested. If you’re bored and are willing to go to anything, there will always be something going on you can check out almost 90% of the time. The teachers are awesome, I’ve enjoyed every single one so far. TA’s are very approachable and helpful, although some are not as smart as one would hope haha.
