Multicultural Celebration Weekend

Hm yeah I thought so. Thanks!

I just registered to go~ Very excited and my first time to visit! I can’t wait to be amazed!!!

Peachesncream…I’ve seen you so much on CC! Wellesley and WUSTL

I have yet to RSVP but I probably will in a couple of days (just waiting for my acceptance and FA package in the mail first). Sounds like sooo much fun! Based on threads from previous years, I think we’re staying with student hosts and there is even some sort of “carnival” set up.

Camilla, lol yeahhh~ Those are the first two schools I’ve gotten into so far. Right now, WUSTL is my number one and I’m really excited to go… Hbu??

Goldowl~ Yeah I was going to wait for the FA package, but I decided that since its free, i’d go anyways… And carnival’s are always fun!

Multicultural Weekend overlaps with Bulldog Days (Yale’s my #1), so I think I’m going to take my chances and not go to Multicultural Weekend. It’ll still work out if I don’t get into Yale, because I’ve already visited WashU, and I’m leaning more towards Columbia right now. I wish I could go; it sounds like it’ll be even better than Discovery Weekend, which is saying a lot.

even if we don’t go as part of the multicultural celebration weekend, wustl will still pay for the expenses?

^Yeah, I’m wondering about that too. I think it said somewhere that WUSTL will still be willing to let you visit at their expense but I’m not sure. It didn’t say anything on the Spring Preview website about the trip being all-expense paid.

Yeah, I was “invited” to both and I think only the people who were invited to the Multicultural Celebration Weekend thingy can get their transportation costs waived.

Multicultural Weekend isn’t your only way to get to visit WashU for free, Spring Preview is paid for as well (at least mine was); they will try to convince you that you need hotel accommodations, but if you call them early they can set you up with an overnight.

This was in the email inviting me to the Multicultural Weekend: “If you can’t come to St. Louis that weekend, I encourage you to visit at our expense with at least two weeks notice, any time before April 28.” I don’t know if this applies only to those invited to Multicultural Weekend or not.
Hope this helps!

My prom is the same weekend, and this will be my only chance to visit the campus. What should I do?!

What’s more important to you?
A fun time with all of your friends and classmates before you go separate ways
OR
A fun time at a potential college where you could be residing and creating new memories for the next 4 years?

Again, you can choose a different time to go - I think that this fact has been stressed multiple times both on the forums and on the e-mail.

Thanks for the advice, but that’s the only weekend I actually have time to fly down. Is this event fun, and do a lot of Asians go!

I say go to prom, unless that sort of stuff isn’t really your thing. You’re going to have way better memories from WashU than multicultural weekend, so get a date, and go have a great time with your friends at prom!

If you’re unsure about going to WashU, go visit. If you know for sure you want to go there, go to prom.

What weekend is this? I wasn’t invited, but I thought it might be good to try and go the same weekend for my individual visit since a lot of other accepted students would be on campus.

It’s from the 14th to the 16th of April!

Thanks! I’ll probably just visit over my spring break, but I will keep that in mind!
