Multiple APs

next year is my junior and ive been seriously considering taking all AP courses, i have to take Spanish lit and Calc AB but Lang & Comp, Physics, and US History are optional to me. My english teacher wants me to take Language but I’d like opinions on the 3 optional courses and if i should try to take them all

and by physics i mean any course of physics you have done, my school has them all and i have math level required for them

You know your capabilities better than anyone here. 4-5 AP’s is certainly not unheard of, but the workload of any course depends in great part on the teachers. Ask some current students for feedback. If 3-4 AP’s is all you can realistically handle, I would not overextend.

AP Lang is probably one of the most beneficial classes you will ever take. Not only will you become a more effective writer, which is a great life skill, it will be invaluable when it comes time to write colleges application essays.

Which physics really depends upon your career aspirations. Do you have a prior physics course? Personally, I would not attempt Physics C without some background. Conversely, if you are not planning on majoring in natural sciences or engineering, you really don’t need Physics C.

I’m also curious as to why you have to take Spanish Lit.

thanks and i have to take spanish lit because my school requires us to take 3 years of the same language

If I were you I’d do it… you’d be taking an english and a history and science anyway and depending on your school I don’t think AP would be significantly more work

I fully recommend AP Lang. My APUSH teacher is amazing and history is really a wonderful subject because you will actually learn the entire context of American politics and not be one of those ignorant American high school kids. If you have a strong APUSH teacher, I recommend you take it. Why take AP Spanish? Is there no Spanish III?
