Music Auditions!!!

The hardest part after auditions is waiting - and April never comes! I hope hard work does pay off, but there is always chance that you feel a little sick at the audition day... Anxious, too anxious.

Wow, I got into the Thornton School of Music TOO!!!

Congrats to you on both of your acceptances!

Now the hard part comes.....:)

Wonderful news! Congratulations!!

Yeah I had to run everywhere at Peabody. I auditioned on clarinet, but hey! they're not even looking for clarinet players this year! WHOOT. Also, my mouth got so dry (no saliva even under my tongue) that I had to drink my "judge's" water and my tone was terrible. Bleh. Oh well.

On the second floor of some building there is a white board right in front of the elevator, and I wrote "WELCOME TO THE SECOND FLOOOOR" and drew scary pictures everywhere. I left my mark at peabody, literally.

Got an "outstanding" for my composition "audition" at CMU. :D Considering I've never taken Music theory/have no formal training I'm proud of myself.

I'm accepted into NEC! So happy, though the financial aid is not too good... Good luck to everyone else!

Congrats thzxcyl!

Wow! Great news. Any word from Peabody?

Congratulations! Still anxiously waiting here.....

Peabody? Not yet. I called the admission office just now and the person on phone said they're assembling the letters (.... that gets on my nerve). Hope I'll get into the double degree program. :)

Wowww! I know good thing's going to come after my heartbreaking Harvard and Yale rejections - I got into JHU/Peabody double degree! and with a great scholarship from JHU with only about $1500 loan every year! That is lovely! - College Park is offering me their full scholarship; Columbia waitlisted me; but I don't care anymore!

Wow! - I'm so happy! I hope it's not a bad time for me to tell my happy news since someone in this board did not get into the double program. But ... I'm just ecstatic!

Super good news! Is this your first choice then? Be sure to let us all know about any upcoming recitals.....one of us will show up, for sure! Lorelei

Way to go, thzxcyl.

Congratulations Pumpkinheads and thzxcyl on your wonderful acceptances. And best of luck to everyone STILL WAITING!

thzxcyl-
Wow, great news on JHU/Peabody!

Congrats!!

Congratulations thzxcyl on your acceptances. The double degree program at JHU/Peabody is soooo competitive to get into. You must be quite a remarkable musician and student. What wonderful news!

My son received his acceptance for transfer to Oberlin Conservatory for piano performance this week. We were very surprised and delighted. He will have to wait a couple weeks to hear from the college, but is planning to attend either way and will transfer in for the double degree if necessary.

pianomom,

The Oberlin College acceptance is a mere formality at this point. Anyone in the Conservatory can get into the double degree program by taking two electives in the College and getting recommendations from the teachers of those courses. The one advantage to getting accepted to the double degree program immediately is that your son will be able to take 17 hours per semester instead of 16 without having to pay extra tuition. It is much harder to get into the program from the College side, because Oberlin College students must audition for admission to the Conservatory with everyone else.

Congratulations to your son, pianomom, and to you for your wonderful supporting role. I know you are very proud and he is pleased with the reward for his very hard work. Good luck!

Congratulations thzxcyl and to your son, Pianomom. Such wonderful news!
