Hi,
As some of you may know,

I have a rock band with 4 other friends from school.
Having applied ED, I will have to break up the band if I get accepted.

If accepted, I hope to stay at the Just About Music house and find other bandmates.
Since I'm a guitarist/bassist, I will need:

Lead Vocals
Lead Guitarist
Rhythm Guitarist or Bassist (I can play one or the other)
Drummer
and maybe a Piano/Keyboard player.

I am a leader and chief songwriter for my current band. As for styles, I'm fairly open, I prefer bands like Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Dream Theater, Van Halen, Aerosmith....mainly classic hard-rock stuff with blues influence.

Would I have a though time finding new bandmates at Cornell?

Hell.. is there even anybody here who wants to join IF I get in? :D :D

haha..yes..talk about this when you get accepted

you needn't worry. There will be enough kids for a band in even a regular dorm, not to mention JAM. And that's just from your freshman class. If the band you put together is good, you can play gigs at frat parties.

I'm a drummer.
What kind of music do you want to play? Jazz, rock, grunge? I'm open for anything :) I applied ED too though, so we can talk about this if we get accepted.

P.S. I write drum music too (for set, but mostly for marching band drum line)

Btw I live in dickson. In my hall I know several guitar players, a drummer, a few kids who play piano, and a couple guys with great voices. I know 2 bassists on the floor below me. This is a "normal" residence building, not even a music program house. There are also at least 3 martial artists in my hall...just an example of the diversity of interests here at cornell.

Hey, that's cool. Hopefully we both get accepted ED and form a band. I like to play hard-rock and some metal, but I'm a better songwriter for ballads and moody stuff.

Thanks for the response.
The diversity seems awesome. I guess I won't have any trouble finding musicians.

sounds good to me, dude- I'll play anything

That would be sweet if we could start a band-we have to keep in touch.
