Thanks!!

I'm a voice major here and to tell the truth I really think it's a pretty balanced thing between your audition and your academics. They need people who are able to pass classes offered at NU, but who can sing!! Looks like you're doing pretty well academically and have a lot of musical experience, so get working on your audition pieces and you've probably got a great shot. If you have any questions on the program, feel free to ask!

thank you for the advice kmac14!!...so, you honestly think I don't need to retake the SAT's at all? I am honestly disappointed in how i did, but, hopefully if i take the subject tests, it'll be better ^. what do you think?

No matter which college or program you're interested in, NU admissions are competitive. I'd do everything possible to bring up those SAT scores if I were you. That's not saying you can't get in with those scores, but if you really want to be admitted, you'd better cover as many bases as possible, as thoroughly as possible.

i agree....you should try to do whatever you can to make them want you....if you've got great grades and can sing too, it'll be hard for them to turn you down

I've taken SAT's 2x, ACT 1x, ap's once, i've had toomany standardized tests...i can't handle it n e more...i want to retake SAT's, but they kill me...i panick and can never (or usually not) do well on them...and have no way of "begging" colleges to let me in haha.

have you gotten the act score back yet? having both will probably help you out....and like i said, if you wow them at the audition, they're more likely to let you in if your scores aren't amazing

I screwed up the aCT as well...25

Well...I really don't know what all the voice major's academics are...but like I said before, retake it as much as you can to improve it...

mah. rejected.

your test scores are really going to hurt you, the average SAT score at the music school is lower than the rest of northwestern... but not much lower. i can confirm if you need but i believe it's about a 1370.

you're also out of the top 10% which is also not going to help you, you seem to be a great singer though, if you are really stellar, you still could get in.

^^he already applied elsijfdl. so determined to give advice, you dont realize that this thread is from over a year ago!
