S17’s college does not offer any music majors but does offer a couple of minors. He had planned to minor in musical performance (major is computer science). He was recently invited to apply for a new music scholarship based on his ED app that they are offering so will be competing against all non majors as well.
They ask for a 60-90 second video. He and his trumpet teacher have selected the music but I would love any tips and tricks for the actual recording and upload (YouTube or Vimeo).
Thanks in advance!
My daughter created and submitted a performance video as part of her pending RD applications for 2019. The way we did it was to contact a student at a local college who records musical performances as part of her major there. She reserved a rehearsal space (any quite space in a not too small room would be fine) and recorded my daughter playing several excerpts and scales. She was supervised by her horn teacher. The final product was very good and she uploaded it to all the schools.
She too, is not planning on majoring in music, but has applied for a music scholarship and was selected as finalist. Now she needs to play live in front of the scholarship committee. Most of her schools used Slide Room to submit her videos.

Thanks! They want YouTube or Vimeo.
And you’ve made me realize we have the perfect contact to help record him. My older one has to submit an audio recording only (trombone) so this is new to us.
