Music Production/Recording Transfer needs opinions

Hey guys. I'm currently in my first year at Emerson and I realize that this is not for me. I'm a Sound Design major and the program is essentially sound for Film, which I thought would be OK, but I realize now it is not what I am looking for.

I would like to transfer to a school in the NYC area. I have come up with a few choices of programs (feel free to add).

1) NYU Steinhardt Music Technology
2) CUNY City Sonic Arts
3) Stevens Institute of Technology Music Recording

I will also put schools like SUNY Purchase into consideration if someone can vouch for them.

Ultimately I am looking for a school that is

1) Very heavy on the Production/Recording curriculum
2) Does not require an audition on a classical instrument a la Michigan/Hartt/Frost
3) Is not a complete specialty school a la SAE

Thank you guys.

Can’t help you specifically, but there’s some pretty detailed info in the second of the two links I’ve posted here: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/793321-music-industry-business-major.html

bump…
