Okay, so apparently University of Kansas has the oldest running music therapy program in the world. Their music school is seen as prestigious and they have their own study abroad program for music therapy...which is freaking awesome.

I've been wanting to do music therapy since my first semester of my freshman year of high school. I'm about to be a first semester senior and I have to audition to schools and KU is on the top of my list.

However, I found a new interest in Occupational Therapy. But, never fear, KU is ranked in the top 5 best OT graduate programs in the nation! Also, the ONLY public school in the top 5 so it's cheaper. On top of that, KU's music therapy program covers just about every pre-requsite needed into the OT program, so I would already be studying pre-OT while getting my music therapy degree! KU sounds absolutely perfect for me, however...

I'm from Ohio. I would have to pay out of state and I know KU has good scholarships but still, it's a lot of money. I know Ohio University has a music therapy program, but I'm not sure if it's as well-rounded as KU. Is it worth the money out of state? I'll most likely get $24,000 for academics, and $30,000 for leadership and other scholarships (maybe more). Any KU music therapy/OT students wanna give me a hand? Tell me more about the program? Is it worth it?

Thanks so much and I hope to get a reply!
