Music Therapy

I'm currently in 10th grade right now and I was wondering what my chances of being a music therapy major in college is. I don't play any instruments regularly, but I have general (but limited) knowlege on piano and the recorder. Can you tell me everything about this major and what I should start learning?

There's a recent thread here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/music-major/305703-music-therapy-anyone.html. Try looking at the requirements for some of the schools listed.

You will need an applied music area. Do you sing? That would be the easiest to make progress doing in this short amount of time. Good luck. Lorelei

My son is very interested in music therapy now. He's decided this could be a more stable profession and he would still be able to perform in other ways.
Ever since we visited Baldwin-Wallace, he never knew this existed. He was delighted of this discovery. We will visit other schools that offer MT & I will post here with our results.

Thank you guys so much so far. I do sing, so that should definetely help! Please keep coming with information!
