Hi, I realized about three weeks into college that I made a mistake in not choosing the MT pass that I had considered (and even applied and prepared audition material) my senior year. I am looking to transfer for my Sophomore year into a program where I will be able to receive a second degree or minor outside of theater and continue my Chinese language studies (possibly pursuing a minor). I have looked the most indepth at Northwestern Universities MT Certificate program, but I could really use some guidance.

ANYTHING would be appreciated.
Thanks so much.

Your post is a bit unclear – are you looking for a MT degree, or a school where you can take some theater classes as a minor?

Yanyuan, students at Northwestern audition for the MT Certificate program at the end of their freshman and/or sophomore years. To transfer in as a sophomore, you would have to first be accepted into the Theatre Program in the School of Communication and then audition for the MT Cert at the end of your first year there.

yeah, I’ve looking into their program. I was accepted there this fall and declined, but I’m looking into it again. I want to find a BA or major program in Musical Theater that accepts transfers where I would be able to receive a non-theater degree as well (so not BFA or conservatory). Sorry if my first post was a little bit confusing.
