Hi Im a new member/senior HS mom trying to help with the college process. Do you know any colleges with good musical theatre programs in PA? Was not accepted into the first choice. Grades are decent, but won't get them into the top schools on academics.. Has a good voice and has lead all four years of high school. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Also we may be relocating to California after a year and would appreciate any information on schools for Musical Theatre also.

This sub-forum may help you:

Blarney, If you look on the thread list, just above where this thread is you will find
another thread like this, Important:(in black) FAQ Link(in blue). Click on that and you
will find the big list of schools with MT programs listed by state, as well as much other
helpfull information. This will be a good place to start. Then you call go to the school'
indiviual web sites. Then come back here with specific questions. Good Luck!

If you live in PA, you might also want to take a look at Kent State's BFA program.

I don't know how that frowney face got in my above post, it was supposed to be a parenthesis!

Blarney -- there are many MT schools in your part of the country, especially if you don't limit yourself to Pennsylvania schools. But if you are applying for next fall, it may not be so easy to get an audition slot for a BFA school at this late date. You should certainly consider applying to some of the BA programs that don't require an audition -- there are some very good ones, including Muhlenberg in Allentown PA.
